 Installation

A microwave link typically takes about two days for two people to install with part of a third day for final test and network cutover.

The installation is straightforward and consists of:

1. Installing antenna mounts and attaching the antennas.
2. Running one RG-8 coax from the roof to the indoor equipment rack.
3. Terminating cables and connecting indoor and outdoor units ("IDU" and "ODU").
4. Programming the radios and aligning the antennas.
5. Independent link test, network integration, final test and certification.

While we offer the convenience of a turnkey installation, customers with facilities staff may reduce their costs by taking responsibility for the cable run and mount installation. These are routine tasks for any building managers. To that end, and for (a lot) more information on all things installation related - antenna weights, wind load specs, mount drawings, power requirements, system set up, installation time line - and more, visit our TECH DESK.
